Q: Can I get sued by a landlord or management company for what I say on this website?
A: Not at all, unless you commit libel. In plain English, committing
libel means that you are outright defamatory and lying about the actions of
your landlord / management company with the intent to inflict personal and
professional harm. NeuLandlord is committed to protecting your privacy and
upholding the rights of renters. Remember, you are protected by the first
amendment of the constitution. Freedom of speech is the reason why NeuLandlord
is such a valuable tool for screening landlord and management companies. They
are checking up and you, you should check up on them too.
Q: Will you release my personal information to anyone?
A: We take privacy very seriously and will not sell or rent
your personal information.
Q: Is this website only used to provide negative feedback?
A: Of course not! Positive feedback is just as helpful as negative feedback.
Q: I am a landlord or management company. Can I post about myself?
A: Landlords and management companies on the website will need to register
as such and will then be able to provide information about their background, as
well as provide a rebuttal to the comments left about them. The current rate to
have a landlord / management company account is $5/month.
Q: I am a property owner and would like to advertise my rentals on this
website? Where can I do so?
A: To keep the functionality of this website clean and simple, we will not feature rental listings on this website. However, keep an eye open for
NeuRentals, which will feature rental listings utilizing our patent pending NeuStep
technology. It will be the first time any website in the world has ever used
this technology and will mark the evolution of online rental market as we know
it.
Q: Why did you create this website?
A: Think of it as a way of conducting a credit check on your landlord or
management company. Unfair and unlawful practices will no longer go unnoticed
and will now impact the ability of him/her to rent out the property.
NeuLandlord is only one of the many exciting new resources being created for
the rental industry. Stay tuned!
Q: What is a track back?
A: Track backs are very powerful tools in the blogging world, but can be very confusing, so here is what happens:
- A blogger reads your post.
- He/she writes about your post and enters your “trackback” link into his trackback section in his/her blog software.
- Once he/she publishes his post, his blog registers that to your trackback address.
That allows you to see that someone has been writing about your post
online. It’s an amazing tool because it’s non-intrusive and it’s a
means of informing someone that you’ve written about or are passing
along your information through their blog. When you are entering a blog post on NeuLandlord, the track back URLs box is asking for the track back information to reference someone else's blog. Their track back url can be obtained from that person's blog post. This is not your own track back URL (Which is assigned automatically). The track back field is optional.
Q: What is a permalink?
A: A permalink is a ‘permanent link’ to your post. It allows a user to specifically
point to a single, textual web address for each entry of content. Simply enter a word, phrase, or alphanumeric characters. No backslashes or other characters. This link will become part of the title of your blog entry. Permalink is optional field.
Q: What are tags?
A: Tags are keywords that you use to describe your blog entry. They are simply used to further define the content in your blog as well as assist people in finding your blog when they are using a keyword search. Tags are optional.
